Quote of the Day

“Appeasement rarely works as a conflict resolution strategy… When a bully asks for your lunch money, you have no choice but to fork it over. But cutting a deal with a bully is a different story, particularly if the ‘deal’ means helping him steal others’ money as the price of protecting your own.”

— Letter from John Boehner to Billy Tauzin, head of PhRMA

  1. Ken says:

Big PhRMA should be nervous. Very nervous.

  2. Judy says:

I agree with Ken. They were going to sell the rest of us out so they could make a few extra bucks. Now their neck should be on the chopping block.

  3. Devon Herrick says:

Big Pharma isn’t the only industry that attempted to bargain for a better deal by supporting health reform. Most didn’t actually get what they bargained for.

  4. Stephen C. says:

Judy is right on. PhRMA was willing to sell out doctors, hospitals, patients, you name it — so long as the drug comapnies got their 30 piece of silver.

  5. Ken says:

Whatever happens to the drug companies will be well deserved. Unfortunately, it will probably have negative impact on the rest of us as well.

  6. Erik says:

This will all fall back on the consumer. Remember we are talking about corporations. Nothing comes out of their pocket, just ours.
