Billy Tauzin: RIP

That’s Retire In Peace. He left the Democratic Party, in part because of HillaryCare, and implied that it was an act of principle. But as head of PhRMA he turned around and tried to sell out the country (and our entire health care system!) to ObamaCare — so that some drug companies could make a few dollars more. See our previous post on the head of Pfizer.

    A real shame. Too bad.

  2. Larry C. says:

I think a Pfizer boycott is a great idea.

  3. Vicki says:

    I like the boycott idea.

  4. Neil H. says:

It’s not just Pfizer. Ihe entire industry tried to screw the rest of us. But I guess you can’t boycott them all.

I was very surprised to see the good doctor advocate a boycott of Pfizer. Surely it is is professional responsibility to prescribe the right medicine for the right patient at the right time. If a Pfizer med is the right med, it’s pretty appalling to think he’d not prescribe it because of the corporation’s political activities.

Perhaps a better way would be for him to berate the detailers (salesmen) whom Pfizer sends to pitch him, hoping that they would report his feedback up the chain? Alternatively, perhaps he could design a prescription pad that he uses only for Pfizer prescriptions? It would have a short paragraph on it describing his position. All of his patients who receive Pfizer positions would read it!
