  1. Virginia says:

I would love to control a robot with my brain!

About obesity: It’s not a big shock. It’s easy to imagine that someone with weight-related health issues would cost more for employers.

  2. Ken says:

On ACOs, I think there is reason for worry. If people can see other doctors (outside the ACO) the entire model breaks down.

  3. Tom H. says:

If your state isn’t suing, it should be.

  4. Devon Herrick says:

I wonder if an employer accused of bias against obese job applicants could use that study (and others like it) as a defense?

The ACA will allow for discrimination in premiums based on participation in wellness programs. I think current law allows a 20% difference in employee contribution baseds on workplace wellness participation. The new law will increase this to 30%.

  5. Brian Williams. says:

Although we are known as the “Free State,” my state of Maryland is one of the few states not suing. I’m sure George Calvert (who founded Maryland Colony on the basis of freedom and liberty) is rolling over in his grave.

However, rather than suing the federal government over Obamacare, I’m becoming more and more convinced that 3/4ths of the states ought to invoke an Article V Constitutional Convention and begin passing Constitutional amendments on balanced budgets, federalism, limited taxes and limited regulation.

I agree that the robot acted like a rodent. But I’m not sure what we have learned here.
