CBO projection: A $1 trillion gap between what America is capable of and what it is actually producing.
The good news from the CBO report is that while growth will be sluggish in 2013 because of austerity and taxes, the U.S. economy will average 3.6 percent real GDP growth for the following 5 years. The report also estimates Obamacare to cost $1.16 trillion over 10 years and 7 million people will lose employer-based insurance coverage.
Dallas’ safety net hospital hires D.C. lobbyists for $480,000.
I’m a huge fan of Free Speech! But lobbying by public entities with taxing authority is one aspect of free speech that I don’t agree with.
I own a home in Dallas County, where I pay taxes for Parkland. I’m not convinced using my tax dollars to lobby for more tax dollars from me is a good use for my tax dollars.
@ The Dallas Parkland Hospital hiring a lobbyist article.
As quoted in the article, “It’s not unusual for hospitals to deploy lobbyists amid the ever-shifting healthcare regulatory environment.” I am not surprised by this move, given that this is over a $400 million health funding needed for the hospital, I guess 480K seems like a small price to pay.

“Total annual paperwork burden created by Obama care: 127,602,371.”
That hour burden is hard to assimilate — quite impressive.
So not only do Americans dislike obamacare, the environment does too?
I wonder if we can get the EPA to fine CMS for all the trees that they are going to cut down to print all that paperwork…
