This is kind of like finding out that anyone can make a bomb if they know where to look online. Wouldn’t the cost of increasing the fraud checks on Medicare pay for the actual cost of the fraud in the long run?

  2. Vicki says:

The nursing home stat is a real shocker.

  3. Ken says:

One reason Medicare fraud is so easy is because of the low administrative costs the left is always bragging about. Medicare doesn’t spend very many resources trying to prevent fraud.

  4. Devon Herrick says:

Medicare fraud is easy but you hear less about fraud against private insurers. When you hear about a scam that targets private insurers, it’s usually with the cooperation of the insured patient. This illustrated that private insurers are much better at detecting and preventing fraud than Medicare. Despite this, the ACA forces insurers to count funds spent fighting fraud as administrative fees that count against the medical loss ratio. This doesn’t make sense that insurers should be penalized for aggressively fighting fraud. Indeed, Medicare should follow their example.
