“Diet study: Those who never consumed fruits and vegetables lived 3 fewer years and had a 53% higher mortality rate than did those who consumed 5 servings per day.”

Never consumed fruits and vegetables…what kind of diet will do this? I mean, none, at all? It’s just too foreign for me.

    • Randall says:

Diets can range from this to that. Ashton just tried an all fruits diet and it was an epic failure. I have tried all protein and all carb diets and I guess you can try all kinds of diets these days.

  2. Terrel says:

“Understanding homicide: Impulsive murderers are much more mentally impaired; predatory and premeditated murderers have other psychiatric disorders.”

Seems somewhat arbitrary to me to deem the level of mentally impaired murderers vs ones with “other psychiatric disorders.” To my knowledge, we can’t yet study the brain fully — we don’t yet have the technology and know-how.

“Could the SCOTUS decision on voting rights help Democrats?”

Interesting, although I couldn’t access the link. But if so, this could start making sense.

Eat your fruits and vegetables! Why are people so against these delicious and nutritious foods!?!

    • Samuel says:

People who don’t believe in the benefits of micro-nutrients as being a major component of their diets, should experiment with a majority micro-nutrient-based diet with pure veggies and fruits and I am sure there is no way they wouldn’t notice a big difference.

      • Timmy says:

True. This is something that is all that hard to convince people and now we keep getting more research backing the claim, but the best evidence is for people to try it.

  5. Buster says:

Understanding homicide: Impulsive murderers are much more mentally impaired; predatory and premeditated murderers have other psychiatric disorders.

That’s what amazes me about defendants accused of murder who plead insanity. By definition someone who murders someone is probably insane by the definition most of us would apply to the act of murder. Of course they are insane — they’re a homicidal maniac. That’s why we need to ensured they’re off the street.

    • Tommy says:

There is a difference though of “insanity” between types of murders, but under the law, of course we need to keep all of them off the streets.

    – certainly acting out of anger and killing someone suggests mental problems.

  7. Devon Herrick says:

Those who never consumed fruits and vegetables lived 3 fewer years and had a 53% higher mortality rate than did those who consumed 5 servings per day.

Researchers conducting a study on the effects of calorie restriction diets on monkeys were amazed when the control group lived as long as the treatment group. When they analyzed the findings, it became apparent the calorie restriction group were fed a highly refined diet devoid of fruits and vegetables and micro nutrients. The reason was because that made it easier to count calories. The control group got a varied diet including fruits and vegetables containing micro-nutrients.

Never? As never a bite of potato? Not a single ligonberry? Not a spoonful of pea soup while doing military service?

Makes one wonder just how reliable self-report is.
