    Except that according to the National Cancer Institute, sigmoidoscopy misses cancers that colonoscopy finds. One study concludes that about 2/3 of women with advanced neoplasia would have been told that there was nothing to worry about had they only had a sigmoidoscopy.

    Of course, sigmoidoscopy does cost less. Anyone remember the breast cancer guideline fight?

    I happen to know people in that club.

    I think all the antihypertensives in the study are cheap these days. It may come down to side effects.

    I’ve also heard there are racial differences in the type of cancers that sigmoidoscopy finds versus colonoscopy.
