Depression, How Dust Affects Your Health, the Downside to Winning the Lottery, and Worthless Cold and Cough Meds
If you have depression, you are probably being undertreated or overtreated.
Man wins $1,000 in lottery; government cuts his Social Security income by $980.
Americans spend about $3.6 billion on [mostly worthless] over-the-counter cold, cough and throat remedies — and millions more on antibiotics that have no effect on viral infections.
I am really impressed by the efficiency with which the government got almost all the man’s lottery winnings.
One agency of government runs the lottery (as a monopoly, of course, so the return is miserably low) while another agency of gevernment takes your winnings. Ain’t this a great country?
Glad to see there is something useful about dust. I have quite a lot of it around.
I don’t know. Less visible sunlight reaching the ground should mean less photosynthesis, and therefore more deadly CO2 in the air.
Wouldn’t it be better if everyone could buy the placebos mentioned in a previous post?
It’s hard for me to believe the cold remedies are worthless. Afterall, people can tell very quickly if they are getting relief. And if they are not, why do they keep buying them?
