    On salt consumption; salt was used as a preservative for centuries before refrigeration. It was also a common flavor enhancer before trade made black pepper available. I wonder if the concentration of salt in people’s diet wasn’t higher (although daily calories were undoubtedly lower) in the days before refrigeration.

    Am I the only woman in the world that isn’t all that interested in kids? I’m sure that I’ll have some eventually, but it seems like the person carrying the child for 9 months would be the one least interested in the process.

    Good point Virginia. I definitely agree that children hurt women’s happiness more than men’s. Who do you think raises them? Still, there is great pleasure in being a mother.

    On the FDA, I’m surprised that generics can’t do the same, especially since a lot of generics are made by brand name companies.

    I initially took that to indicate “Women want chldren more than they want men”, or phrased differently, would rather have a baby than a husband. Now THAT would make for an interesting survey. I certainly have known women with that preference. Hmmm…
