What House Republicans Could Learn From Henry Ford
To develop and alternative to ObamaCare, Republican leaders are planning a listening tour:
Senior House Republicans — struggling to find consensus for health care legislation to replace the Affordable Care Act — are planning to test ideas in April at town-hall-style meetings that could provide a path toward a long-promised alternative to President Obama’s signature legislative achievement.
From a review of George Gilder’s new book on entrepreneurship:
…[A]s Henry Ford is said to have put it: “If I had listened to my customers, I would have built a faster horse.”
What they imply is products create demand?
“If I had listened to my customers, I would have built a faster horse.” Very Domineering.
I have zero confidence in the Republicans to become effective advocates for an alternative health care plan. They’re completely inept. They’ve had years to explain to the American public what is wrong with Obamacare and what would be better, and they have not communicated it effectively at all.
People prefer to see the real things. A real alternative plan is works much better than oral explanation.
The Republicans apparently fail to let the public know the alternatives well.
I dont believe they want to actually have a solution. A solution would take something away from someone somewhere, and they dont have the spine for it. They only want to have the appearance of maybe having a solution someday, and oh boy aren’t they working hard.
There really is only one other option and Republicans are loathe to speak it’s name.
“explain to the American public what is wrong with Obamacare”
This is becoming self-evident. But I agree with you, the alternatives are not being well-communicated.
“It’s important to show the American people that there is a better approach to improving health care for Americans than Obamacare” – Just in case they haven’t managed to figure that out for themselves.
I’m excited to see them discussing actually looking towards consensus building.
Well, we’ll see how long it lasts.
Or if it lasts at all.
They have no choice but to figure out an alternative.
Since there is a disconnect with the GOP in finding ObamaCare alternatives, this discredits the party to not knowing what they want.
I won’t be counting on Republicans to figure that out for me either.
They probably will restart to discuss McCain’s proposal.
