Three Cheers for Peter Orszag
Orszag was already hated (suspected of leaking to Jackie Calmes and others). Then the inner circle was livid at his debut N.Y. Times column, which they thought undermined the president’s position on a middle-class tax cut. A top official even asked us to run a contest: “Who is the more disloyal former staffer: Peter Orszag or Steven Rattner?” The correct answer was (a).

The political spinmeisters at the White House have a hard time understanding bean counters like Orszag. The White House spin doctors mistake integrity for disloyalty when he refuses to invent numbers that support their political purposes.
I’ve always thought Orszag was the most rational (and responsible) one among the Obama crowd.
You should have mentioned that the White House crowd boycotted Peter’s wedding this past weekend. Shows how petty they are.
My opinion of Peter Orszag just went up several notches.
“We don’t like your editorial, so we’re not coming to your wedding.”??? No wonder this White House is in trouble.
