Congressional report: Medicaid expansion in the health care law will cost the states at least billion $118 over ten years. That’s nearly twice the $60 billion recently estimated by the Congressional Budget Office. (HT to Chris Jacobs)
Berwick to the states: Let them eat cake.
Is anyone surprised that it will cost twice as much as they told us? If you are I have some beach front property in Iowa I’d like to sell you.
Block grants are something that states should definitely request. Berwick may say block grants are off the table. But that may change if states start talking about dropping out of the Medicaid program .
Berwick is easy to understand. With a block grant the federal government can’t control what is done with the money.
I think we are headed toward a disaster.
Ditto Bruce and Devon.
All of the expansions in Medicaid will create huge fundIng issues. I bet we see huge discrepancies in care between Medicare and Medicaid continue into the future.
Berwick is a socialist.
If some states end up filing for bankruptcy, as has been discussed, what then happens to Medicaid?
