    If there’s no proof about the harm of too much salt, why do my kidneys shut down if I drink a lot of sea water?

    Brian has a point! I’ve also heard of heavy boozers who died of alcohol poisoning.

    Sleeping with a partner… may help you live longer.

    Live longer? Last night about 4:00 a.m. my partner threatened to kill me if I didn’t stop elbowing her in the ribs everytime I rolled over in my sleep.

    Moreover, she often complains that if she doesn’t get to the gym she becomes depressed!

    Sorry, I’m not buying the exercise doesn’t fight depression study. Exercise is one of those things that you have to put your mind into. You have to learn to love what you’re doing at the gym (not dread it), embrace putting your body through intense activity……embrace the whole pain & gain process.

    When you successfully do the above, you’ll experience that physiological awakening that will make you feel better, period.

    Or not.

    The research finding on relationship between exercise and depression is confounding. For some depressed people, exercise fights depression. For some (non-depressed) people, the thought of exercise is depressing. If you control for the people who are not depressed, and who don’t like exercise, then you could probably say exercise in depressed people fights depression – unless they hate exercise.

    People who get depressed thinking about exercise get so because they are not conditioned. Once one gets more conditioned to exercise, it becomes easier to exert oneself.
