That’s fair. However, such a bill will not pass.

Well of course the study would conclude this coming from an insurance industry study without realizing that their [insurers] very existence contributes to price inflation. Both are to blame and current policies in place, basically, the entire system is dysfunctional and ends up affecting the patient the most.

– I would hope discretion is used during these regulations.

Hospitals keep upcharging in order to recoup lost costs.

That’s arguably true. However, hospitals are only acting based on the incentives dealt them. Insurers perpetuated the concept of excessive third-party payment (hospitals invented it). Policymakers should have figured out the consequences of the perverse incentives and encouraged insurance products that provide the appropriate incentives – such as HSAs/HRAs.
On Data Sharing:
For all of you who preach the “evils” of EHRs, take a look at that. Data sharing would not be possible without them.
According to the report on the negative effects of the ACA on franchising indsutry: Many franchise businesses have the characteristics suited to high-growth businesses, to scale quickly and generate net new jobs and economic output at rates greater than small, independent businesses. From 2001-2005, job growth in franchising outstripped the growth of total jobs by 3.3 percent each year.
This is so upsetting. How exactly is this law helping our economy at all? It’s not only small businesses but it’s also eliminating jobs and opportunities for our economy to outgrow other economies. I’m not sure exactly what kind of miracle people are expecting from this reform.

I agree with you Gabriel. Electronic medical records certainly make the sharing process easier, if only physicians and certain insitutions would learn the benefits of using these instead of their risks, perhaps we would probably see a major increase in the quality of care provided.

The FDA should be concerned about showing the real consequences of smoking, and leave it up to the consumer to decide whether they still want to do it or not. They shouldn’t be concerend about making these ugly but real images to look pretty to play with the minds of smokers. At the end of the day, whether cigarette companies try to hide it, everyone knows the awful consequences behind smoking habits.

Obama et al, expect for all these unlawful reforms you are passing to apply to all of you just like the rest of the American society. Just because you are the so -alled authorities than run this country, you are no different than any of us.
