Mother’s Day Facts
This is from Bryan Caplan:
Key Fact #1: Men’s average desired family size is virtually identical to women’s average desired family size. The General Social Survey confirms this for the U.S.; the World Values Survey confirms it for virtually every nation on earth.
Key Fact #2: Women think having children is more important than men do.
Key Fact #3: Women are much more likely than men to experience “baby fever” — a deep craving to have a baby. Less than half of men in their twenties feel baby fever — versus more than two-thirds of women.
Key Facts No. 1 and No. 2 should come as no surprise. Our society applies the term “biological clock” to women but not men.
In spite of these “key facts,” I learned long ago that I know nothing about this and never will. And even if I had an idea about it, I should keep my thoughts to myself.
I hope they didn’t pay a lot of money to researchers to discover these facts.
I think I agree with Vicki. At least 2 and 3 are pretty obvious.
Proof that I am like no other woman on the face of the planet.
My husband wanted six kids until I asked him: “Do you ever want to be able to surf the internet again?” He reconsidered after that.
