    Gastric banding isn’t 100% effective. It’s hard for me to understand, but some people just lack the sensitive nerves in their stomachs that signal to the brain the sensation of being sated after a meal. I watched a documentary that profiled people suffering from obesity and explained they needed to also undergo counseling to achieve the desired results.

    There is a billboard near my office that advertises lap band for $8,900. I’m surprised more people don’t try it. If I had faced a life-long battle of the bulge and was losing (no pun intended), I’d be the first in line to inquire about something costing less than $9,000 that might help me live longer.
