  1. Dallas says:

Wow. Where does one even buy a tank? And to what end?

  2. Craig Upper says:

Economists: the effects of global warming on the economy will either be positive or tiny.

“Would you bet your paycheck on a weather forecast for tomorrow? If not, then why should this country bet billions on global warming predictions that have even less foundation?” – Thomas Sowell

  3. Hoover says:

Hah they are actually fairly easy to purchase — it’s just that they’re not street legal. Machine guns only require a Class 3 weapon permit. Suppressors are legal to own, just illegal to equip.

So when Z day happens just make sure you’re south of the Mason-Dixon line.

  4. Jack says:

Never trust polls on Democrats unless they’re organized by Acorn. Like the first election.

  5. steve says:

Read the numbers. An even larger majority of economists think the effects will be tiny or negative.

  6. Ryan says:

Interesting links. 1,000 tanks seems like a lot but really how much is that?

  7. Corey says:

Steve is right, the title of the global warming post is very misleading. The consensus was that there would be a negative effect on the economy.

This is from the report the article you reference cites:

    “Assuming that “more than 10
percent lower” = –15%, “more than
    5 percent higher” = +10%, and taking
the midpoint of the other categories,
    the collective estimate is that
    rising greenhouse gases will reduce
GDP in 2100 by 1.86%—about the
equivalent of only one year of American
    per capita economic growth over
    the past century.

The study also showed economists overwhelmingly favor increasing taxes on energy to decrease carbon emissions, something I doubt NCPA would want to emphasize:

“Economists favor increased reliance on nuclear
energy and higher energy taxes. One way to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to rely more
on nuclear power, an idea strongly supported by
economists (63.1% agree, 10.0% disagree). Another
method for discouraging emissions is an
overall increase in energy taxes—a proposition
that is also fairly strongly favored by economists
    (65.0% agree, 21.3% disagree).”

  8. Gabriel Odom says:

As an avid flyer, I certainly understand why the prices should be about to climb higher. We pay next to nothing for the ability soar unhindered through the clouds – a marvellous feat in and of itself. I have spoken with quite a few stewardesses in my day, and they all complain that they are paid next to nothing for dealing with some of the most difficult customers in the entire economy.

  9. Corina says:

Only 57% of Democrats favor ObamaCare.

Not even their own party can support their own laws, and they expect everyone else to do so? This goes to show how flawed and inconsistent this reform is.
