It is only natural for people to wonder if this isn’t patently unfair. But, keep in mind the wealthiest one-third are also driving the research that ultimately trickles down to the other two-thirds. Without spending by the wealthiest one-third of the world’s population, there would be little surgery since the lack of money for research means many of the surgical techniques would never have been developed. Moreover, the wealthiest one-third are probably paying to correct some of the damage they have done to themselves. Nearly two-thirds of medical spending is on conditions that are related to lifestyle.
There is not one surgery pie, of which we are getting more than our fair share. Underdeveloped countries can have as many surgeries as they care to pay for.

It’s hard for me to understand why so many congressmen are losing it. It’s as tho they learned nothing from the town hall meetings last summer.
