Breaking: IRS Employees Union Opposes ObamaCare
IRS employees have a prominent role in ObamaCare, but their union wants no part of the law.
National Treasury Employees Union officials are urging members to write their congressional representatives in opposition to receiving coverage through President Obama’s health care law.
The union leaders are providing members with a form letter to send to the congressmen that says “I am very concerned about legislation that has been introduced by Congressman Dave Camp to push federal employees out of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and into the insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act” (More)
Very Interesting Post, I wonder if Unions (ironically) will be the nudge that people need to abolish Obamacare.
I don’t if Obamacare will be able to be abolished until Obama is out of Office.
I don’t know, I think that unions are a very powerful force in this country, and they could be a need firepower to shut this thing down.
While I usually refer to Unions as the leeches of society, I would say they may be helpful in this instance.
Brilliant! This is exactly what conservatives have been arguing about when they claimed that the government needs to be on the same healthcare as the rest of America, because when they are they won’t settle for horrible healthcare.
Awwwww, so sad that those poor little union babies will lose their federal health benefit program….
Don’t get me wrong I dislike unions just as much as the next guy, but I think they can help get this policy tossed out.
My thoughts exactly.
“The NTEU represents 150,000 federal employees overall, including most of the nearly 100,000 IRS workers.”
Wow. That is quite a few.
My thoughts exactly, the impact they could have on all of Americans healthcare is pretty spectacular.
Most likely the NTEU and other federal workers (Congress?) will get some kind of exemption while individuals (like myself) with no group leverage will get stuck paying even more.
I don’t know what the fine is but I will fight this if it’s fully implemented.
