Hear, hear!
While I agree with the point that these work visas for high tech jobs create the equivalent of indentured servitude for these talented immigrants, isn’t this policy a bit protectionist?
Something struck me when I read this. The U.S. is willing to invest heavily in R&D. Our competitive advantage is out supply of high-tech workers and knowledge. Throughout much of the world, cheap labor and cant low environmental regulations are their competitive advantage. Thus, much of the world stands to gain by ignoring our patents and copying our intellectual property, which is so easily copied.
