I work in a state mental hospital in Tennessee. So, I am around mentally ill people 40+ hours a week! We started a smoke-free hospital over a year ago which has been successful. The long term patients where slowly tapered and all new admissions who smoke are given a nicotine patch to help them stop. I really believed our patients would riot when the smoke free time came but it has not been a problem at all. But, you have to wonder, where is government intervention going to stop? Employees are not even allowed to smoke in their own cars while on the hospital grounds!
