Interesting. I believe auto liability insurance is mandatory in all but three states. Yet the auto uninsurance rate is almost the same as the health uninsurance rate.
The Hawaii statistic is especially interesting. They were exempted from the ERISA preemption and have had an employer mandate for more than a quarter of a century.
