  1. Perry says:

“The Obama administration is thinking about extending the “risk corridors,” subjecting taxpayers to more risk.”

Ahh, the administration made a “deal with the devil”,
now they are going to have to continue subsidizing not only the insured, but the insurers. Not only that, they are basically admitting failure of the plan because it’s not doing what it is supposed to be doing.

    Imagine that…

    • Susan says:

I am no Obamacare fan. But the risk corridors were meant to protect against a very unknown environment. Given the administration continually changes the rules, a stable environment is quite far off, so there is justification for extending the risk corridors.

  2. Matthew says:

“The impact of loneliness on early death is almost as strong as the impact of being poor.”

    Imagine being poor and lonely…

  3. Thomas says:

Yes, it is nice that Obamacare is working for the 50-60 crowd, but someone has to pay for their “affordable” costs. If young people don’t start signing up soon, this could be bad news for the baby boomers.

    • Andrew says:

They are really putting their hopes in the expectation that young people will wait until the last minute to sign up.

  4. Lance says:

Actually, feeling lonely not only demonstrate that a person has limited social network, but also increase the risk of having mental problems.

  5. Buddy says:

“It thinks the law is whatever it says it is, and it never really cared how much the program cost.”

I think we all knew that’s what the Obama Administration thought of Obamacare since the start.

    • James M. says:

They plan to extend the risk corridors even longer. I think they feel that Obamacare rollout isn’t going as smoothly as they expect it to…

  6. Lance says:

“1/3 of those signing up for ObamaCare are age 55-64.”
    That is the target group.

  7. Brutus S. says:

“Bombing cities and inflicting civilian casualties were key to the strategy that won World War II.”

Well sometimes you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelette.

  8. Jeff A says:

The civilian casualties are the result of a total war. The war was taking place in the cities; there weren’t any battlegrounds in which to fight. The axis power had indoctrinated its population; they believed that they were fighting for the right cause. Most were willing to give their lives to serve their country. For that reason the Allies had to be so “brutal”. The only way of countering these countries was demoralizing their entire population. For that reason Germany was bombed flat and Japan suffered from an atomic bomb. For the Allies to break the axis of power, they needed to hit them hard. And if you think about it, the Allies weren’t as brutal as the Axis were.

  9. Lindsay H says:

Every time is clearer and clearer. Obamacare was a plan that was never fully conceived. They have and will continue to improvise on the implementation of this reform. The administration has no clue what they are doing and this improvisation is only bad news to the American population.

  10. Lacey says:

It’s almost as bad as being poor? So what if you’re lonely and poor? Do the problems compound each other?
