Maybe your ancestors. But not mine. My ancestors were all handsome and gorgeous like me. Interesting blog though! Thanks for the link, planning to keep up with it now.
Cornelius — Maybe they’re just looking at different ways to measure health, including intangibles. Experts are really into number, and we should be aware of them, but they hardly give the whole picture of whether or not a person can be considered “well.”
“Nine in ten Americans say they are in good health. The busy body “experts” are sure they are wrong.”
However this survey was taken, it was taking it from ignorant subjects. We still live in a society where the average person doesn’t even really know what a calorie is, and, despite this, uses it as a measure of food quality when buying food.
I am 6’1″, and I weigh 250 pounds. I have a BMI of 33, which puts me well into the realm of obesity. Am I healthy? Yes. I eat my vegetables, I work out, I ran a 5K, I play volleyball, I swim, I walk 1.5 to 3 miles each day, and I can run a 10 minute mile. I am overweight, but this does not encumber me or keep me from enjoying any part of my life. I would have to weigh 185 pounds before I am considered “healthy” by the CDC. That’s ridiculous.
What your ancestors looked like.

Given that one-third of the population is obese, I’m not sure how that is possible. Denial is rough…
What your ancestors looked like = NEAT. Evolution is amazing.

Oops, meant to address that last comment to Matthew.
“The janitors in the Capitol aren’t getting a pay cut after all!”
How about the MC’s agree to receive pay cuts? I think that would show more commitment to the public and their seriousness in reducing the deficit.
Last link.. so the president’s a liar… who knew?

That is really nifty. Eyes forward but they weren’t preditors or carnivores until about a million years ago.
Ohh… the french lol. They never change.

These experts also believe Americans need comprehensive health coverage to mitigate these unhealthy conditions.
I am all for tele-medicine, this is a welcome change in health care given that we are faced with so much physician shortages.
