Barney Frank on health care: “Obama made the same mistake Clinton made.”
It’s a rare day that I agree with Barney Frank. But he’s correct that President Obama and the Democratic Leadership bit off more than they could chew.
Had the parties worked together rather than the Administration and the Democratic Leadership ramming through a health reform wish list for progressives, we might now have a reform plan that won’t have to be reformed numerous times over the next few decades.
The populist push for banning or even just controlling oil speculation will come up from somewhere every now and then for the next few decades. But for the reasons stated in the article concerning exploration, extraction, and production, it will be so hard to do and not have the catastrophic result of shortages.
