Next we are going to hear that the whole thing was a Republican plot.

  2. Larry C. says:

    That’s an amazing exchange.

  3. Neil H. says:

“It’s not my idea it’s his idea.” Somebody must think the whole thing is going to be a big failure.

  4. Tom H. says:

As Gail Collins said in her NYT column this week, the Obama health insurance exchange (along with mandates and subsidies) was patterned after the Massachusetts Health Plan. Heritage scholars helped design the Mass Health Plan and I think they openly took credit for it.

Of course, Heritage is not repsonsible for every detail.

  6. Paul H. says:

Also, the article says that the insurance and drug companies basically got everthing they wanted in the bill.

  7. Stephen C. says:

Paul, this is stunning. Where did you find this piece? And why isn’t anyone else reporting on it?

  8. Ken says:

    I agree. It is stunning.

  9. Joe S. says:

Heritage’s connection to the Mass Health Plan and therefore to Obama Care is well known in health policy circles, but it is probably not at all known by Heritage donors.
