My stomach definitely has a mind of its own. For an interesting article on the stomach, the Hits & Misses from Feb 4th had an article about fecal transplants. Fecal material from skinny mice was inserted into the guts of obese mice, which then lost weight. The theory was that obese mice had a different ratio of highly efficient bacteria in their digestive tract that extracted too much nutrition.
