Interesting Links from Marginal Revolution
A Mandelbox is a mathematical object akin to a Mandelbrot set. (Neat video)
Did the median wage paid to male workers fall by 28% from 1969 to 2009, as the Brookings Institute claims? Or did they grow by 7% between 1969 and 2007, as Scott Winship claims?
Republicans are more scientifically literate than Democrats or independents are.
Hat tip to Marginal Revolution on all of the above.
The Mandelbox box is a really interesting box.
Interesting contrast of views on wages. I think I am persuaded that things have been getting better, except for the recession.
The argument about whether median wages are falling or rising depends on which category of workers you look at. It depends on which category of benefits you include in wage income. Cash wages for certain workers rose more slowly because the cost of employer-sponsored health benefits increased.
On the Republican finding, this is no surprise to me.
Didn’t we also find out recently that Republicans understand economics and math better as well?
