This is actually great news! It rules out the chances of the government ever endorsing castration. You know, because they don’t want people to live longer.. with state funded healthcare, it’s too expensive.
Studebaker, I think that’s a fundamental question for all men.
“A 1969 study of institutionalised patients in Kansas found that castrated men lived an average of 14 years longer than other men in the same facility, but a 1993 study of Italian castrati (singers castrated as boys to preserve their high voices) found nothing unusual about their longevity.”
But about this new Korean study, “This is the most thorough, well-controlled study of its kind”.
we need a healthcare system that places an emphasis on preventative care and education so that people aren’t going to the ER for relatively minor issues that could be dealt with in early stages
The BEST part of that castration article is the first comment at the bottom:
Live one’s life without sex just to live longer? Don’t be absurd. That would be like living one’s life without alcohol. Without either, life would be intolerable. I am 90 years-old. If I get castrated just to live longer, I intend to wait until I am 105. Even then I will insist that the castrator be a young woman. At the last moment, when we get down to the personal stuff, I might change my mind.
Secret to a long life for men: castration.
This is just weird…and wrong, to say the least. What a way to persuade people to do crazy things..
Is it really longer? Or does it just feel longer?

Interesting branch of research.
Well, it looks like I don’t want to live longer anymore.
My goal is to live well for as long as possible. Not live miserably forever.
