Promises, Promises
Good musical pairing. Very appropriate.
Perhaps a better musical pairing would have been from Fleetwood Mac. “Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies.”

I would like to respond to John C. Goodman’s comment in the article “Young People Could Bear Brunt of Insurance Mandate”. The quote “If you charge people a fair price, then a 50-to-60 year old should pay about six times as much as a 20-year old, etc.” First of all, I am a healthy 62-year old single working woman and I am not wealthy. I am being taxed for just about everything and taxes continue to rise. I have paid into the Medicare System for most of my adult life. four times longer than a 20-year old). Where are my benefits??? With this so-called health care plan, I am being sold down the river. Currently, my doctors will not take Medicare/and Medicare Co-pay insurance. If this healthcare plan goes through, it will cut the benefits to seniors even more and cause a greater number of people to be served by fewer and fewer doctors. I think you need to rethink your position. Most seniors are not wealthy — they are on fixed incomes and whatever savings they have accumulated in the Stock market (like me)have been hit hugely within the last 5 years). I am tired of the government trying to take control of my income and health care. Fix the problems with the current system instead of creating something even more catastrophic.
I agree with Billie Jean.
Why does the media give Obama a pass on things like this. It should be the first question at every White House press briefing.
Good question, Stephen. Answer: Because these guys are Obama lap dogs. They have forgotten what real reporting is like.
