1-800-Number
The White House pitched President Obama’s Rose Garden event on Monday as a new transparency, but the event amounted to an infomercial, complete with a 1-800 number. Operators are standing by and “the product is good,” the President said. He even encouraged Americans to bypass the website and apply for benefits over the phone or by mail.
[But] we called the hotline on Monday and the automated menu redirected us to Healthcare.gov, which in turn told us to get in touch with someone at the call center. (WSJ)
Loved this, so typical.
How so?
Now the blame is shifting to who did the website, awesome. Could be fixing it instead but they would rather just complain about it.
Such is congress, hopefully something is happening behind the scenes to make it better.
I’m sure whatever is happening behind the scenes involves plenty of our taxes dollars being spent erratically.
Might as well light our money on fire
I wonder if they have spent more trying to fix the website than they did creating it
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
Our trillions of debt would speak different.
I would imagine so. I know the first contract was for $95M. But, now it’s crunch time. I’m sure there is an army of programmers working long hours, “getting rich quick” on our tax dollars.
Just when you thought the ACA could not get worse, it essentially crashes.
The entire thing is cringeworthy
I’d rather see it crash than get implemented and drag our economy down with it’s awful long term effects.
Long term? There’s already a long list of it’s negative effects.

The effects are going to happen regardless, a website being down will do nothing to stop the ACA.
Unfortunately it will do both.
