  1. Sam says:

“Where have all the nurses gone?”

I’ve heard lots of accounts on both sides. Regardless, seems like this topic is one that will continue to be discussed and shows the lack of skilled labor in our country.

  2. Ryan says:

“Ten ways to reduce the crime rate without annoying the NRA.”

Most of these examples make sense and I would venture to say that there are even more ways to reduce crime. However, the random slaughters that are becoming more prevalent in this country by mentally-ill individuals is not being addressed and won’t be with the implementation of these conventional measures to fight crime.

  3. Tom says:

“Where have all the nurses gone?”

I think the rate of physician assistants has been going up, which could be an indicator of why nurses have decreased in numbers.

  4. Studebaker says:

Where have all the nurses gone?

I will have to ask some nurse friends. My knee-jerk reaction is that doctors were not willing to pay enough for nurse to work in doctors’ offices. Hospitals may have bid up the salaries.

  5. Jack says:

Not annoying the NRA is a big plus, but I may have to call shenanigans on the lead thing. Correlation doesn’t = causation..

Then again, there’s still asbestos in most Infantry barracks… so maybe something environmental like that can turn ordinary kids into gorillas.

  6. Jack says:

Really? “That columnist” should have checked BLS — it tends to suggest otherwise..

  7. Steven says:

Im all for reducing crime. 100%. However, why is the NRA and gun owners always made out to be the evil guys?

  8. Gabriel Odom says:

Steven, I don’t believe that the Post was attacking the NRA, but rather recognizing it as the most powerful gun lobby. Most logical individuals recognize that guns themselves do not actually commit crimes.

  9. Parker J. says:

Where have all the nurses gone?

What does anyone expect? Physicians, nurses and every other employee that works in the medical field are considering other career opportunities or to perhaps start their own small businesses because they can’t tolerate the way this system is regulated. I would run away too! They are losing left and right.
