With such a broken health care system, it is interesting to see this. Some pets have better access to care than some humans. Let’s put things into perspective here…

In many places girls that young are able to get abortions as well. This debate leads to questions of competency and parental consent. If not parents, I think primary physicians should be directly involved in granting consent, at the very least.
You may remember Mike Toomey, Governor Rick Perry’s former chief of staff that went to work for Merck and lobbied for Merck’s Gardasil. Gardasil protects against the human papillomavirus, or HPV. The federal government approved Gardasil in June 2006, and medical authorities began recommending that all girls get the shots at ages 11 and 12, before they are likely to be sexually active.
Governor Perry pushed for Gardasil to be used on young girls in Texas. He got lots of criticism for that during the last presidential election.
“ALL the jobs lost by women during the Great Recession have been recovered, at least in the private sector. But men still have a way to go before that happens.”
Discrimination! Where are the reparations? The system is OBVIOUSLY sexist because there hasn’t been equality of outcomes.
“Like any kind of health care offering, (pet insurance) is viewed as an employee enticement and retention tool,” said Charles J. Sebaski, an insurance analyst for BMO Capital Markets in New York.
“Employers are offering pet health insurance.”

Doesn’t bother me. Their owners work hard for that insurance.
But, it would nice if they would donate that money to people in need…

Climate Change as a catch-all was a great strategy, normal weather patterns are now considered aberrations.

I’d be worried about adverse selection. Only the sickest pets might get insurance.
