  1. Tip says:

In an experiment, 40% of respondents chose to save a dog over a foreign tourist.

    – I saw this yesterday. I think I would save the tourist, but there is no doubt that it would be tough to leave the dog.

    • Craig says:

No doubt it would be hard to leave the dog, but it wouldn’t be so hard that you would question whether or not to save the dog or the human.

  2. Sam says:

Obama’s chief economist: Wal-Mart is a “progressive success story” with an overall positive economic impact.

-I’m surprised by this. I would’ve thought that they would be slamming Wal-Mart for whatever “big corporation” reason they have.

    • Lennon says:

I thought the same thing, but it isn’t fair that they are targeting wal-mart and not other crony-capitalist companies.

  3. Studebaker says:

There is a paternalistic factor. People would also probably saved a baby before an adult.

  4. Nigel says:

It is called the food chain, humans are inherently more valuable than dogs or animals. The fact that this is even a discussion is disturbing to me. Looks like PETA has brainwashed some more people.

    • Brian says:

Inherently more valuable? how do you figure?

      • Nigel says:

We have a higher mental capacity, we are of more benefit to society, also if we use any type of morality measure such as Kant’s Categorical imperative it would be bad for society and the world if we were to embrace this mindset.

  5. Calvin says:

“As in, Obama’s newly appointed head of the Council of Economic Advisors, and the author of a 2005 study lauding Wal-Mart as a “progressive success story” with an overall positive economic impact.”

This was an excellent point made by Walmart. They provide so many jobs for Americans, and they are a general benefit to the economy.

    • Craig says:

I guess that’s true. They should still pay there employee’s more though. Just because they help the economy doesn’t mean they are exempt from being fair.

  6. Perry says:

Sarah Kliff isn’t sure if Obamacare will make things better or worse? Well I can tell you if you’re passing a 2000 page law and don’t know what’s going to be in it,
    what do you expect?
