The F.A.A. has no proof that electronic devices can harm a plane’s avionics, but it still perpetuates such claims, spreading irrational fear among millions of fliers.
I understand that the FAA is no longer really concerned that cellphone use could endanger planes. But the FAA is hesitant to relaxing the ban because passengers themselves don’t want voice communications to disrupt their flights. I cannot imagine how annoying it would be if every other passenger on a flight had their cellphones out yelling into their phone in an attempt to overcome the noise of the plane and other passengers (all yelling into their phones).
The Constitution has prohibited slavery for 150 years. Apparently Seidman wants this opened for some future Congress to revisit– perhaps by using indentured servitude as a way to collect taxes?
The “antiquated” argument cuts both ways. If the 2nd Amendment applies only to muskets, then the 1st Amendment must protect only manually-operated printing presses, and not broadcast or cable media or the Internet.

Thought he meant respecting the spirit rather than letter of the constitution.
