Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: one-third of Americans are considered sleep deprived. Almost 38 percent of respondents reported unintentionally falling asleep during the day at least once during the preceding month. The CDC also reported that one in 20 Americans has fallen asleep while driving. The American Automobile Association issued a report in November estimating that almost 17 percent of fatal crashes are caused by sleepy drivers.

    It’s interesting how too much sleep and too little sleep both contribute to obesity and poor health.

    I believe it. People don’t know how to take care of themselves. Plus, our society rewards being busy, not taking time off to recharge.
