No Wonder Employer Health Costs Are Rising

Some employers pay for in vitro and even sterilization. And if you think substance abuse and maternity are choices, not accidents, employers are paying a lot for employees to satisfy their preferences:

    I find it hard to believe that 100% of health plans cover general office visits but only about one-quarter cover diabetes disease management. The general office visits are probably not that necessary half the time whereas catching and controlling chronic diseases like diabetes is the reason people make appointments for annual physicals.

    Sterilization? In vitro? Those are insurable events? You are right, John. The only question is why these employers can’t understand why their costs are rising.
