CBS News ran the numbers for a 48-year-old in Charlotte, N.C., ineligible for subsidies. According to HealthCare.gov, she would pay $231 a month, but the actual plan on Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s website costs $360, more than 50 percent higher. The difference: Blue Cross and Blue Shield requests your birthday before providing more accurate estimates.
The numbers for older Americans are even more striking. A 62-year-old in Charlotte looking for the same basic plan would get a price estimate on the government website of $394. The actual price is $634. (More)
What else can go wrong?????
At least the prices are cheaper.
Knowing the IRS they won’t realize you were only supposed to pay that much. 4 months later there will be a knock and an audit.
I have noticed this. The White House is able to give low estimates because they don’t require you to give any of the important information, but once you do your premiums are way higher.
It’s all part of the plan to run private insurers out of business. The government has gotten support by promising ridiculously low costs, now companies aren’t going to be live up to that promise.
I can’t believe that CBS is passing this off as just another glitch. It has gone too far now, these aren’t glitches these are lies.
Right, at what point will a spade be called a spade? I have no confidence in the populous.
Sick and tired of the lies. Sick and tired of them. Is it November 2016 yet?
That’s a significant difference in price. To be off is just rediculous, to be off by that much is insanity.
The snowball that is the ACA
And it hasn’t even crashed yet
