    If napping after lunch increases learning power so much, why isn’t Mexico doing better than it is? Their daily siestas should make Mexico one of the world’s intellectual powerhouses.

    Larry: Whether we’re talking about Mexico, Greece, Sicily, the Philippines, or any of the other countries that practice afternoon napping, is there a discernable national benefit to taking an after-lunch nap?

    I don’t know the answer. My only real experience with this involved a personal nightmare trying to exchange currency while traveling abroad. Good luck finding an open bank at 2:00pm in southern Spain.
