Iowa Medicaid Expansion Puts People in Private Plans
Under the proposal, state residents with annual household incomes of up to 100% of the federal poverty level would obtain coverage through a state-run health plan, while those with incomes from 101% to 138% of FPL would be able to use federal Medicaid funding to purchase private health coverage through the state’s health insurance exchange. The plan is expected to expand coverage to about 115,000 newly eligible state residents

Here we have the very unique possibility that households attempt to inflate their income — gaining access to the exchanges.
Given that Medicaid patients have such a difficult time finding PCPs, are they adjusting the pay scales to increase access to physicians? If not inflating the Medicaid rosters will only make it more difficult.

True. I think households here could potentially try to inflate their income, which wouldn’t be surprising as many other examples like this exist.
Its interesting that the expansion got through at all. Gov. Terry Branstad was blocking it up until a week ago.
The state run plan looks like it could be terrible.
