  1. Lindsey M. says:

Finally I have a solid excuse for walking fast- “I’m trying to live longer.”

  2. Perry says:

    Trying to outwalk Death.

  3. Mark says:

“The two crashes were also similar in that each had been preceded by a big multiyear stock price boom.” (Sumner)

Perfect timing for all of the baby-boomers who are retiring. Let’s hope they didn’t pull out of the market when it was at a trough, because the coming peak will be a record breaker.

  4. Ronald says:

“Conservatives think liberals have bad ideas and liberals think conservative are bad people.”

No person is perfect, but at least I’m not the name tied to Obamacare.

  5. Lucas says:

I wonder if this could tie in with overweight people dying sooner, and by staying slim you live longer. The fit are essentially leaving the weak in the dust.

  6. PJ says:

Does how fast you walk affect your life expectancy?

As a fast walker, I sure hope so!

  7. Steve says:

Is there any evidence liberals are more rood? Did someone mine the words used on msnbc and fox, or from op-eds or blogs and compare tone? Seems odd to me, normally being aggressive is associated with being conservative. I mean the gender split alone should make liberals better listeners and less combative.

  8. Studebaker says:

Does how fast you walk affect your life expectancy?

Jackpot!!! Everywhere I go I’m walking at a pace that’s borderline jogging. I hate getting behind someone who is dillydallying at a leisurely pace when I’m trying to get somewhere.

  9. Buster says:

Conservatives think liberals have bad ideas and liberals think conservative are bad people. “It’s cool to be rude if you’re a liberal,” …

I’ve also noticed this among academic discussions as well. Maybe because many academics are so insulated from the real world, they think anyone who doesn’t agree with them is ignorant beyond belief. Especially in health policy, if you advocate for free health care for all, you may be dismissed as a well-meaning, misguided soft-hearted liberal. But if you’re a conservative and advocate against free health care for all, you’re a hard-hearted, mean-spirited person.

  10. Floccina says:

Conservatives think liberals have bad ideas and liberals think conservative are bad people.

Maybe it is all about signalling and the democrats are really happy conservatives exists to take the hit when something mean really needs to be done.
