People often assume non-profit hospitals do not have a profit motive. That is not true; non-profit status is a tax election. Non-profit hospitals still have to earn a profit and treating charity patients doesn’t not contribute anything to the profit margin.
I’m sort of surprised that there isn’t an ethical prohibition against doctors turning away kids because their parents make bad decisions. But, I totally agree with doc’s decisions to not see kids who don’t get vaccines.
