    Article says that married men live longer. Marriage isn’t particularly protective for women.

    From what I read in the article: being an active, accomplished, purpose-driven person is best predictor of longevity.

    Being middle aged, I have noticed that my friends that do not lead a purpose driven life are the ones with the worst life outlook and health.

    and ARTK I agree with some of what you say but in my experience it is my wealthy friends that lead the least purpose driven life because they are bored and spoiled (eventually to death).

    I still find it funny that Mexican immigrants live longer than most.

    I agree with the above. Too many causes of longevity to make any meaningful difference in my life. I think I am going to continue doing what makes me happy and healthy. Plus, you can do all the tai chi in the world and still get hit by a bus.
