I have to wonder if the Swedish healthcare system is being overwhelmed right now.

Any test conducted on whether electronic devices can interfere with a plane’s controls/electronics should include a situation where dozens of devices are on a plane operating at once and then another situation where only a few devices are operating at once.
It will be interesting to see how significant the difference is in either situation.
It’s a shame that medical tourism isn’t allowed for patients traveling from North Korea to South Korea. The northern patients are living in the stone age.
In the health club & fitness industry, there is a 6-week rule of thumb on the duration of New Year’s Resolutions. Health clubs and yoga studios are crowded for the first six weeks after the start of the New Year. Then the traffic dies back down to normal levels. People tend to work out more in the summer than winter — except for a post New Year’s spike.
For the electronics question, one of my favorite theories that I’ve heard (which would also explain why no one seems to be able to agree on an official answer to inquiries on the subject) is that asking passengers to turn off their electronics is actually a test of the passengers. Airline personnel want to set the tone of compliance with protocol and make sure they don’t have any potentially riotous hot-heads before they take off. After all, it’s a lot easier to remove Alec Baldwin from the plane when it’s still on the ground.
Not to worry. The Obama administration has proesimd to get rid of regulations that “don’t make sense”. I’m sure the city of Chicago will take a cue from its favorite son, and implement the same culture. There….I feel better about it already.
