Why the ObamaCare Application Form is 21 Pages Long

ObamaCare is tricky business. In order to figure out how much Americans will pay, the federal government needs to collect lots of information, everything from the size of the family to its income to whether any family members are Alaska Natives (which would make them eligible for additional services through the Indian Health Service). It’s hard to collect all that data in a way that isn’t a bit complex.
“You don’t need to file taxes to apply for healthcare.”
You certainly don’t need to actually contribute to society so this seems like such a silly statement.
They’re expecting a 1-2 Week turnaround for processing physical paperwork. I’m calling shenanigans.

Well, if anything, this will allow for business in helping people actually fill out the applications, as Jordan mentions. Something positive out of it, right?
A good example of how the overall system is going to continue to be more and more complex and convoluted instead of assuring individual empowerment.
It’s rather scary that the application is that long just to apply for something we are all required to have by law.

Complex, long, time consuming…not to mention mandatory for everyone. Ugh, this gives me a headache everytime.
For those of you who actually bothered to look at the the damn thing, you will notice that a single person only has to fill out about 10 pages. By comparison, the FAFSA application is 10 pages, and that’s also for only one person. Yes, it could be shorter, but it’s the government for Pete’s sake. What’d you expect?
Did you think it would be short after they drafted a 2,000 page bill?
