Why Is It Easy to Get a Coca Cola, But Hard to Get Medical Care in Zambia?

I was working in a remote part of Zambia and I could always get a Coca-Cola but, at the same time, 1 in 5 children didn’t make it to their fifth birthday because there weren’t medicines for them. After respiratory disease, the second biggest killer was dehydration — from diarrhea — which can be stopped with oral rehydration salts (ORS) and zinc.     Very sad that necessities cant be given to those in need.

      It is sad and pathetic, but this has been the case throughout history. Not sure what it will take for humans to evolve as a more humane species or whether that’ll ever be possible.

        True. The fact that people suffer that don’t have the ability to improve their condition due to people’s nature to control and dominate others is true and saddening.

      How about just human nature? There have always been marginalized societies and cultures in the world while others lived in abundance. Not much has changed today.
