Insurance Company Denials

About 1 in every 10,000 people appeal a decision, according to AHIP, and insurers win 59% of the time.  Still, the number of appeals has been rising – 12% between 2004 and 2006 [link].

    What an ingenious way of communicating a denial. Just have Amy singing “No, no, no.”

    Here’s an insidious idea. When patients call in to protest their denials and are put on hold, the insurer should use Amy as the “on hold” background music.
