1. $67 million? Wow! Guess that’s just a rounding error to the IRS, though.

   Doesn’t everyone feel good about working all day so that their tax dollars can go to such worthy causes as maple syrup contests? Ridiculous.

Tom Coburn notes (9-27-13): “The CR passed [by the Senate] today sets fiscal year 2014 spending at $20 billion more than the spending caps set by the bipartisan compromise Budget Control Act, and includes an additional $18 billion in short-term accounting gimmicks. That means the Senate is violating the spending caps by $38 billion.”

   No wonder people are calling to “shut down the federal government!”
