        1. So the IRS hires 100’s of new auditors, yet they lose track of $67M?

Maybe SMB’s should skip their filings this year.

  1. “Elsewhere, just this week the government celebrated Christmas in September by funding numerous Christmas tree projects across the country plus a number of other stupid projects like junkets for Chinese wine connoisseurs and a maple syrup recipe contest.”

Doesn’t everyone feel good about working all day so that their tax dollars can go to such worthy causes as maple syrup contests? Ridiculous.

  2. Sen. Tom Coburn notes (9-27-13): “The CR passed [by the Senate] today sets fiscal year 2014 spending at $20 billion more than the spending caps set by the bipartisan compromise Budget Control Act, and includes an additional $18 billion in short-term accounting gimmicks. That means the Senate is violating the spending caps by $38 billion.”

No wonder people are calling to “shut down the federal government!”

  3. “IRS should have done a better job of accounting for those indirect costs, including cost of workspace and computer support for people working on the health care program.”

What a surprise – it’s going to be more expensive than we were told…
