  1. Tim says:

“At least 30 states have attempted to shut down teeth-whitening businesses, and far more often than not, dental-industry interests, not consumers, drove these actions.”

Just another reason why I don’t like anything related to the dental industry.

  2. Rob says:

“Big problem for ObamaCare: 20% of Americans don’t have checking accounts.”

Just another testament of how careless the new law is in some areas. This happens when you pass a law for political gain as rapidly as possible, especially one as intricate as health care.

  3. Dewaine says:

Of course premium are going to rise, wasn’t that the plan all along? The whole thing is a mendacious ruse to ultimately get single payer. More government to fix the old government, isn’t that old trick?

  4. JD says:

“REQUIRE everyone to have a credit card and a bank account.

Or REQUIRE the insurance carriers to accept EBT cards.”

Will the Supreme Court interpret this as a “Tax”?

  5. JD says:

“At least 30 states have attempted to shut down teeth-whitening businesses, and far more often than not, dental-industry interests, not consumers, drove these actions.”

I’m not surprised, they are incentivized by profit to do so. The problem is that government lets them. The partnership between business and government that Obama loves so much IS crony capitalism.

  6. Baker says:

Special interests using government power to stifle competition and protect themselves. This is a common problem.

  7. Cory says:

Cherry picking the worst esitmates from the report is a little disingenuous, but the point is still taken.

  8. Pete says:

    The first link:
I’m starting to see the pattern here.
    First, National Healthcare.
    Second, Bad Teeth.

    We’re turning back into Brits!

  9. Jordan says:

    Oh PPACA.
    You’re so cute.
When did people start to believe that Governments were good at solving problems?

  10. John Craeten says:

“we have to pass the bill in order to know what’s in it” -Nancy Pelosi

This is just another representation of how bureaucratic our government has become. This type of comprehensive reform, even if it was a good idea, needs politicians in Washington to think with more foresight before implementing it.

  11. Susan says:

They only need those checking accounts for 9 months. Insurers aren’t allowed to cancel until 3 months missed payments. They are only on the hook for 1 month though. Providers are very worried about the potential of 2 months free services they will have to provide! No penalties and can’t turn you down or make you pay more the following year – or even recoup the payments. Unbelievable!
