  1. Devon Herrick says:

The FDA didn’t have a problem with Botox being used to paralyze facial muscles but didn’t want doctors to use it off-label to stop headaches? That seems misguided. I find it interesting that the anti-wrinkle injections will soon enjoy greater sales for therapeutic uses than cosmetic ones.

Health care is a growth industry, regardless.

  3. Paul H. says:

Let’s see. On demensia: Playing Suduku or working crossword puzzles doesn’t help, but learning a foreign language does? Hard to believe.

  4. Brian Williams. says:

I find myself agreeing with Mayor Bloomberg on the “food stamps for soda” issue. Food stamps (funded by taxpayers) exist to fight hunger. Is soda pop a good anti-hunger purchase?

  5. Vicki says:

Liberal groups may be siding with the food companies, but it’s for the wrong reasons.

  6. Virginia says:

I don’t understand why there is an issue with food stamps. If you feel comfortable banning alcohol and tobacco because, “That’s not the purpose of food stamps,” then what’s the big deal with banning sodas? It seems to me that making exceptions about how people spend the money would automatically apply to sugary beverages that supply empty calories.

Let the poor buy soda with their own cash. If they allow the government to pay for their food, they allow the government to decide which food they eat.
